By dramatically reducing the risk of unauthorized downloads, CyberSource digital certificates help Web merchants increase their revenues and improve their operating margins, without compromising InstallShield's user-friendly look and feel.

Web merchants and ISVs also gain access to the complete CyberSource Internet Commerce Suite(R) of payment, tax, risk management, fulfillment management, and distribution control services without having to integrate additional software.

CyberSource SmartCert technology uses X.509-compliant certificates to provide rights-based authentication to web merchants and ISVs engaged in digital content delivery. A consumer is issued a digital certificate, for each purchased product or service. The certificate is automatically routed to CyberSource for a real-time validation check prior to the consumer being able to download, play or otherwise electronically access the content. By using digital certificates for transparent validation, online vendors avoid such potential sales impediments as passwords and download wrappers.
